Rattel Academy (“Rattel”, “we”, “us”, “our”) provides online Quran, Tajweed, Arabic language and Islamic studies lessons. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. It applies to the registration form, the contact form and any message you send us. Please read it alongside our Terms of Use.

Who this policy covers

Many of our students are children whose lessons are arranged by a parent or guardian. When you complete a form on behalf of a child, you do so as their parent or guardian and you are responsible for the information you provide about them. See “Children’s data” below.

What information we collect

We only collect what we need to arrange your free first class and, if you continue, your lessons. Through our forms you may provide:

• Student details — the student’s (or child’s) name, and optionally their age and gender.
• Parent / contact details — the email address and phone number we use to reach you, and optionally your country of residence, city and time zone.
• Scheduling preferences — preferred days and times, sessions per week and session length.
• Learning preferences — first and second language, previous study and level, method used, amount of Quran memorised, preferred teacher (male or female) and the subjects you would like taught.
• Your message — anything you write to us in the message or notes field, by email, or over WhatsApp.
• How you heard about us — an optional field that helps us understand which channels reach families like yours.

You do not need to give us any payment or card details to book a free class. We do not ask for them on this website.

Why we use your information (purpose)

• To arrange and confirm your free first class with a certified teacher.
• To match the student with a suitable teacher and lesson plan.
• To contact you about scheduling, and to reply to your questions.
• To arrange ongoing lessons if you decide to continue after the free class.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling.

Our lawful basis

We process your information on the basis of your consent — you choose to submit the form and ask us to contact you. You can withdraw that consent at any time by asking us to stop contacting you and to delete your details (see “Your rights”). Withdrawing consent does not affect anything we did before you withdrew it.

How your information reaches us, and who else is involved

When you submit a form, the details are delivered to our team by email and/or WhatsApp so that we can respond to you. This means the content of your submission passes through the services below:

• WhatsApp / Meta. We use WhatsApp to confirm class times and to chat with you. Messages you send us on WhatsApp, and form details forwarded to us through it, are handled by WhatsApp (a Meta company) under its own privacy terms.
• Email. Form submissions and enquiries are delivered to our academy inbox by email so a team member can follow up.

We share your details with our teachers and support staff only as needed to arrange and deliver your lessons. We do not share them with any other third party for marketing.

Analytics and advertising tools

To understand how visitors use our site and to measure our advertising, we may use:

• Google Analytics — to see anonymised, aggregated statistics about page visits.
• Meta Pixel — to measure the performance of our Facebook and Instagram campaigns.

These tools only load after you accept cookies through our cookie banner. If you decline, they are not loaded and no analytics or advertising cookies are set. These tools do not receive the contents of your form (such as the student’s name or your message).

Cookies

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We use a strictly necessary cookie to remember your cookie choice and your language. Analytics and advertising cookies (above) are only set if you accept them. You can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings; the site will still work.

Children’s data and parental responsibility

Rattel Academy teaches children as well as adults, but our website and forms are intended to be completed by an adult. If the student is a child, a parent or guardian must submit the form and is responsible for the information given about the child. We use a child’s details only to arrange and deliver their lessons. If you believe a child’s information has been submitted without a parent’s or guardian’s involvement, please contact us and we will delete it.

How long we keep your information

We keep your details only as long as needed for the purpose you gave them:

• If you book a free class but do not continue, we keep your enquiry for a reasonable period (normally up to 12 months) in case you return, and then delete it.
• If you become a student, we keep your details for as long as you are learning with us, and for a reasonable period afterwards.
• You can ask us to delete your details sooner at any time.

Your rights

You can ask us to:

• Access the information we hold about you (or your child).
• Correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
• Delete your information (“erasure”).
• Stop contacting you and withdraw your consent.

To exercise any of these, just contact us using the details below. We will respond within a reasonable time and will not charge you.

Keeping your information secure

We take reasonable care to protect the information you share and to limit access to it to the people who need it to arrange your lessons. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, but we work to keep your details safe.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Please check back occasionally.
